  • String trimming all the areas on the property including fences, around posts, trees, and curbs

  • Cleaning up all grass clippings on the property.

The price you pay is determined by the square footage of the turf on the property. We don’t up-charge if you live in a fancy neighborhood; the price is the price, and it’s fair across the board.

Some other things to note during service: If we are servicing your property and notice an empty trash can needs to be brought back up to the house from the road then we are going to do it. We pick up kid's toys before we mow and place them off the turf area. We pick up trash that has blown onto the mowing areas. These are the extras that set us apart, and it’s just normal day to day activities for us.

Aeration

Aeration, also known as “Dethatching” (not to be confused with Power Raking – see above for more information) removes small cores of soil from the lawn reducing soil compaction and promotes root growth for healthier grass! This is where the thatch layer is (please see illustration to the right of a lawn core aeration and how your lawn benefits).

Technically speaking, aeration is the naturally occurring process of air exchange between the soil and its surrounding atmosphere. Practically speaking, aeration is the process of mechanically removing small plugs of thatch and soil from the lawn to improve natural soil aeration. It’s commonly called “core aeration” in the lawn service industry, and you may have heard of it as soil cultivation (coring, spiking, and slicing).

The benefits of an aeration can help make your lawn healthier and reduce its maintenance requirements through:

  1. Improved air exchange between the soil and atmosphere

  2. Enhanced soil water uptake

  3. Improved fertilizer uptake and use

  4. Reduced water runoff and puddling

  5. Promoting a deeper, stronger turf grass root system and a denser, thicker lawn

  6. Reduced soil compaction

  7. Enhanced heat and drought stress tolerance

  8. Improved resiliency and cushioning and

  9. Enhanced thatch breakdown.

Fertilizing

One benefit of lawn fertilization is that your lawn will require lower amounts of weed killer. A thick, healthy lawn creates a natural resistance to weed growth. Those stubborn weeds, as tenacious as they are, have a much harder time taking root and spreading in a yard that has a healthy, thick growth of grass. Occasionally, those persistent weeds may call for specific weed killer applications but a well-fertilized yard will cause a drastic reduction of weed activities.

Lawn fertilization will also strengthen the root system of your grass, allowing it to absorb water quickly during heavy rains. This will help reduce flooding and muddy spots in the yard. Without a properly fertilized lawn, the grass will lose that healthy, lush green appearance and will begin turning brown as that summer sun heats up.

LawnScapes offers two different options of fertilizing for our weekly Lawn Care customers. Below you will see our two options and the pros/cons of each and how blending both options, over time, will result in a beautiful lawn you can be proud of and your neighbors will envy.
